The housing thing. I’m assuming you’ve never been a Black student otherwise you wouldn’t be calling students “Dingbats.” I’ve stayed at on two different cultural floors as an undergrad and the experience was exactly what I needed to lessen the transition from home to college. I’m from a Black-majority city in the South, so yes, I needed my “Black” floor to aid in my tradition to my “white” university on the West Coast. Other students were more than welcome to apply to the floor as well.
There’s a huge difference between legal segregation and Black people choosing not burdening ourselves with the world’s anti-Blackness.
