Nicely done. I have an actual narcissist in my life and the word does gets thrown around due to “selfie culture” and the like.

But NPD is lifelong and if you are related to a true narcissist, you’ll feel like putting on a mask yourself. They won’t grow out of it. Your attempts to fix them won’t work. They have to admit they need the help, but instead of doing reasonable things, they will continue to dig a hole for themselves. You start to pity them, but you learn to keep your distance.
