Good Evening. Here’s Yet Another Post About Sexual Harassment in the Film Industry.

I was preparing a different post this week. A more light-hearted post. But then more sexual harassment news broke. Last Friday, a Texas teenager shot up a school and killed a girl who rejected him. Then USC’s President Nikias sent out a series of statements regarding Dr. Tyndall who was allowed access to students AFTER the allegations surfaced against him. I wonder to myself if my alma mater will ever atone for naming a chair after Bryan Singer, who allegedly assaulted student interns fed to him by the School of Cinematic Arts.

Earlier this week, it was Luc Besson’s turn to face his sins. And Harvey Weinstein may actually go to prison. So far, so good. Then this morning, news broke about Morgan Freeman’s multiple allegations of sexual harassment, inappropriate behavior, and sexual assault. As of this writing, 16 different women have accused Freeman. According to insiders, Freeman was no surprise.

Personally, I am more disappointed about Luc Besson than Freeman. Leon: the Professional is one of my favorite films. Besson, much like R. Kelly and Woody Allen, is yet another creative genius who hides his crimes in plain sight. I’ve heard rumors about Freeman, but was blindsided by Besson.
